Nazrin Shah Library

" A book is our longtime companion and therefore reading and acquiring knowledge is a long time journey. " - Ainita

Keeping with the Club’s original purpose of promoting literature, Our library, which we inherited from the Colonial Days, is well stocked with various categories of books and periodicals. Its mission is to provide access to books, periodicals, and newspapers for members for casual and scholarly reading and to provide an environment conducive to quiet research, contemplation, reflection and/or relaxation.

Among them are about 5,000 fiction and non-fiction books, periodicals such as Newsweek, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic, India Today, The Australian Women’s Weekly, Good Housekeeping, Her World, Woman’s Day, Femina and bulletins from various Affiliated Clubs.

The Club subscribed to the daily newspapers. These include: Utusan Malaysia, The Star, The New Straits Times, Makkal Oosaai, The Sun, Nanyang Siang Pau, The Malay Mail and Ipoh Echo. Our library keeps recent past issues of the New Straits Times ( normally for one month).

The Library also boasts Internet-linked PCs which are free of charge for all Club Members to use – a perfect environment for homework, study or catching up on work.

Over the years the Club, through the efforts of its librarians and its members, has built a library that is arguably the equal of any private city club library. We are committed to maintaining its excellence and maximizing its value to members. Further, we believe in the importance of the preservation of a traditional club library atmosphere with appropriate décor and furnishings.

A staff librarian is available to assist in your selections from the latest reference materials, periodicals and books.
